It’s always surprising what you find what has been lost or forgotten about on moving day. Lightbulbs continue to go out all over the house. Last minute packing is getting frantic. The tension level is starting to rise as well. I find it helpful to sing, clap or just hoot and holler to be annoyingly cheerful. Brenna appreciates it. The kids love my loud wake up calls. It’s also the time to secretly throw away stuff you want rid of. Thin out the clutter now because you have the perfect excuse for missing stuff. “I don’t know where that is, must have went somewhere in the move.” 100% truth. First up donuts. I found my t shirt for the day. Focus Cole. Focus!
Well so far about everything that can go wrong has, but it will all be okay in the end. Power going off a little soon but that’s okay. Some docs got sent to the wrong address, no big deal. Delays here and there but we are in the new house. Movers were delayed, not the end of the world. But you know what went as smooth as silk? You know who had no issues from start to finish? You know who had a seamless transition? Amazon and the United States Postal Service. Amazon was waiting on us and the USPS arrived right after we took possession. Maybe it’s because they are efficient. Maybe it’s because we buy so much stuff.
I learned something new today. It seems when you use movers, all your friends and family will stop by to see the new place. But if you don’t have movers you won’t see a soul. Cant say I blame them really. So even with the small hiccups that have come up, this is still awesome having movers. I haven’t said hardly any bad words today. There’s a parade at 6:00. Sometimes they say you aren’t allowed to throw candy in the parade. But what are they going to do? Stop the parade and kick me out? Not when I have this much candy.
So in the winning department today the following happened. This ball of tangled evil went into the trash. It was already in a garbage bag so it was fitting. So you know when you sit through a time wasting meeting or bad movie or whatever and say well “there’s 2 hours of my life I will never get back.” I just got back 3 hours of my life. That’s a win!!
According to Brenna, Otto had some moving anxiety. According to me, he thought he might be getting left behind. Happy to report, Otto the criminal dog is happy with his new yard. He also likes the windows.
So when you move into a new house and there is lots of wallpaper, you start peeling it off. Because wallpaper can date a place. Like it’s 1992
So you start peeling wall paper and bam!
I don’t think Brenna appreciates the wallpaper as much as I do. The most appreciative member of the family is Otto. He loves the place. And he is also the most criminal member of the family. He has learned to open doors.
It’s been a long and busy day. Closing on the house. Moving with lots of people stopping by. The day ended with a parade. And I don’t think anyone booed me. I got lots of cheers. Granted that was for the candy we threw, but they still cheered. The last few days have been busy and chaotic. Today was stressful and hectic and totally awesome. So if you haven’t moved in a while I would highly recommend it.
